About Me

I have always played a balancing act between the urge to draw and a compulsion for carving marks onto wooden surfaces in my workshop.

Printmaking allows a collaboration between these two practices. I interpret my drawings…

…as engravings on a woodblock.

Which is used to create a print.

My Process

Woodcut is a method of printmaking where the surface of a woodblock is carved away.

When ink is rolled over the woodblock, the areas that were left intact receive the colour.

A sheet of paper is pressed onto the woodblock, which transfers the ink to create a print.

The prints are finally hung up to dry.
